In this course, we introduce you to the world of speedcubing through guiding you on how to solve foundational puzzles–3x3, 2x2, 4x4, and pyraminx–and fundamental techniques for getting faster, including how to turn cubes quickly like a true speedcuber through proper fingertricks. We will also go over key techniques for practicing and improving as a speedcuber to help you take the maximum advantage of your speedcubing journey from the very beginning.
If there is extra time left over before the course finishes and students are interested, we may also cover skewb, clock, and other speedcubing puzzles.
This course is most recommended for people who:
- Are completely new to speedcubing or just started out recently
Foundations of Speedcubing (3-Student Group Course)
This course is split across six class sessions, each 90 minutes long, for a total of nine teaching hours. (this is a $16.67/hour rate for the 6 student option, or $30.00/hour rate for the 3 student option)
Before signing up, please fill out this form, which will give us information about where you are in your speedcubing journey to see if the course is suitable for you. This will add you to an interest list, and once the list has enough interested students, we will contact you to arrange the course times and confirm if you will be taking the course. You will have 48 hours to respond about your updated availability and place your payment after being initially contacted before risking being replaced by the next person to sign up if there is a waitlist.
The course is offered in two forms: 3-student groups and 5-student groups. This allows for you to choose the most suitable option depending on your budget and your preference for larger vs. smaller groups. 3-student groups will generally have more flexibility and more dedicated time per student, whereas 5-student groups will have a bit more of a rigid structure while still providing ample time for students to each have their questions answered. The form linked above also allows you to choose your preference.
