In this course, a World Champion and 11-time World Record holder in the 3x3 Blindfolded event, Tommy Cherry, will walk you through every step of the process from starting out with to deeply grasping the method used by all world-class solvers: 3-style. We will also build on the foundational form of 3-style by covering an advanced technique called floating, so that you can implement commutators from more buffers during your solves.
Depending on the rate of progress in course sessions, we may also spend time exploring cutting-edge techniques such as LTCT, T2C, visual deduction during memorization, and beyond.
This course is most recommended for people who:
- Are already confident with solving 3x3 Blindfolded and ready to leap to something significantly more advanced and difficult. It is advisable, but not required, to already have a basic understanding of how 3-style works.
- Are serious about improving and willing to dedicate time and effort outside of course sessions to practice the content discussed.
- Are serious about competitive cubing, especially blindfolded solving.
- Average under a minute in solving 3x3 Blindfolded. Although it is acceptable to average above a minute, longer average times may lead to a steeper learning curve that makes it difficult to keep up with other students.
3x3 Blindfolded Advanced (6-Student Group Course)
This course is split across 10 class sessions, each 90 minutes long, for a total of 15 teaching hours (this is a $23.33/hour rate for the 6 student option, or $40.00/hour rate for the 3 student option)
Before signing up, please fill out this form, which will give us information about where you are in your speedcubing journey to see if the course is suitable for you. This will add you to an interest list, and once the list has enough interested students, we will contact you to arrange the course times and confirm if you will be taking the course. You will have 48 hours to respond about your updated availability and place your payment after being initially contacted before risking being replaced by the next person to sign up if there is a waitlist.
The course is offered in two forms: 3-student groups and 6-student groups. This allows for you to choose the most suitable option depending on your budget and your preference for larger vs. smaller groups. 3-student groups will generally have more flexibility and more dedicated time per student, whereas 6-student groups will have a bit more of a rigid structure while still providing ample time for students to each have their questions answered. The form linked above also allows you to choose your preference.
